Request-a-Guide!
If you have a game you bought recently that you can't get to work, just leave a post here and I'll see if I can track it down and get it working.
I haven't been able to get KOTOR (I or II) to run on my laptop with an X3100. I'm not 100% sure but I think it's a GPU related problem. The game exe doesn't even start unless I run it in win95/98/me compatibility mode and even then it crashes when I try to play. Any ideas?
hm, well it seems that many Intel cards are listed on the incompatible list, but your card doesn't seem to be listed there. A driver update may help, as may installing a patch. This guide (http://www.tweakguides.com/KOTOR2_3.html) could also offer some assistance. The game actually runs fine on my graphics card, but it does have a different design, and therefore may suffer different bugs. Your card is actually more powerful than the gm945 I use, so the problem's most likely a compatability error. Just for the record, what OS are you running? and hopefully new drivers/tweak guide will help.
I have a integrated 945gm and I was able to get Portal working perfectly beacuse it runs on the new source engine,but counter strike source runs bad on every map other than "gg_" and "fy_" ones. Is there some kind of way to make Counter Strike Source run on the new source engine?
okay, there isn't a way to make cs run on the new engine (at least not until valve releases an update), and i'm assuming you've added +mat_forcehardwaresync 0 -dxlevel 70 +mat_bumpmap 0 +mat_specular 0 +map_background none -autoconfig to the launch commands in cs? Well, under this CS runs fine on my computer with the same 945gm, better than portal in fact. Because of this, I really can't help you because my experience with the same game and card was so different to yours under apparently similar circumstances. So yes, a steam update to CS Source could make it run on the newer engine, but other than that I'm not sure how to fix this.
hey do you know how to get World in Conflict working? it worked really well on my 945 chipset before the patches came out and now they crash to desktop after around 30secs to 3 minutes after i start the game

After looking around other sites/forums, the patch seems to be the problem. The game's official requirements do not support integrated graphics, but other people have said the game worked before the patch. the game should work as before the patch if you reinstall it from the disc(s), but I assume you need the latest patch to play online. I have the game and it works fine, but I don't have the patch, so my best advice would be just to reinstall.
Oh btw Im using an 865G 3d analyze doesnt work with the patch Dxtweaker didnt seem to do anything Im just using the intel extreme driver, which still gets very poor graphics
Sorry for another post, but i forgot to ask, is there a way to get rid of the patch to use 3d analyze? cuz i reinstalled it a ton, but it still wont work..
okay, to get halo running (well), 3d analyze is useful. Are you using vista? if you are, sorry but 3d analyze will not work for you. at all. if not, the only way to remove the patch is reinstalling halo. What are the other specs of you computer? because my PC is core 2 duo 2ghz, 2gb ram. THe fact that these components are quite good may mean that slower parts will cause lag. also, what FPS are you getting at the moment? I'll probably be able to find the solution if I know this.
Ok well i reinstalled it twice and it still wont work... I even installed patch 1.04 or sumthing :( Umm i have 2.4ghz only 512mb ram tho, I dont want to update yet lol, but i will eventually. Umm my FPS i dont know, The error im getting is...

Jason, sorry but KOTOR 2 doesn't seem to run without crashes at the moment. As for you reese, your computer's other spec seem too low to run the game. It does run alight on similar specced rigs if they do have a graphics card, but intel graphics means puts alot more demand on the processor and ram.
Freestuffyeah is there some kind of way to make Crysis work on the 945gm? According to this video "http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_cb1dm6s-r4" you can but I've tried unsuccessfully. (The only way I got it to work was through the reference rasterizer and you can guess how that ended up.) PLZ help.
Well there aren't any specific fixes, but http://tinyurl.com/365qgf is a program that lets you tweak the game specifically for your hardware. Hopefully this will increase the FPS in the game. But: have you got the game to work at all? I kind of need to know whether it's a slow FPS or the game completely not working.

Hey, I just downloaded HL2: Episode 2, and since it's a source 2007 game, it has higher requirements. So I was prepared to put all the settings to low and force it to DX8.1, but it started loading for a while and then crashed. Do you have any idea how to get it to start up at least to the beginning screen without crashing so I can put down all the settings and hopefully play it ok?
Also, portal is crashing for no reason now, and when I modified TF2, it crashed the first time, so I tried it again and actually spawned, but I had like 1FPS and I shot 2 grenades and it crashed again. I tried forcing DX8.1 on all of these as well, just so you know.

I have a GM965 Intel card, and I recently upgraded to the newest video drivers, ver. 14.34. I'm trying to run KotOR (original) with AA and Frame Buffer effects, but it doesn't work. Will 3DMark help these work, or is there another way, or is it impossible?
Hello, I have GMA 3100 and I cannot get any source games to work properly, I tried HL2 it plays for a while then crashes, portal crashed as soon as I see a portal, and TF2 plays until I try to join a server, it loads but as soon as its done connecting it crashes. i set all thes games to lowest graphic settings, and tried forcing DX 7 and 8, to no avail. Any Ideas?
I can't get Second Life to run on my 855GM/GME graphics controller. Says the driver is out-of-date or unsupported. Though I have gotten this to run in the past with minimal frame rates but still got it to run. If you could help me out that would be fantastic. =3

well actuallly it isn't asking for sofware directX version. It is telling abt ur 82865G directX support actually ur integrated card is directX 7. so thats y game isn't workin. i wonder if battle field 1942 will work on 82865G?
TF2 seems to be working almost perfectly for me on the 965, the only thing is that it slows down like hell, to about 10-15 fps, during firefights, and it's really terrible. I've basically tried to follow the guide best as I can, but the list of preferred autoexec commands is missing. Could you do another rundown, maybe?

okay then, its probably simply impossible. Given how badly the game runs on hardware much more powerful than integrated, it's probably a scam.

i already did, and, sadly, even under 3d-analyze, it says they're an incompatability error on startup of the game and crashes immediately. sorry.

I try to play Portal (from Valve). I keep getting the message:

well batlle field 1942 works fine with 82865g but i guess u will have to use swiftshader along with it
